Future Continuous
Sometimes called Future Progressive, the Future Continuous is one of the verb forms associated with the Future Tense in English.
Future Continuous has two forms but they are usually interchangeable.
Quick Example (will)
- You will be studying English tomorrow.
- You will not be studying English tomorrow.
- Will you be studying English tomorrow?
Quick Example (going to)
- You are going to be studying English tomorrow.
- You are not going to be studying English tomorrow.
- Are you going to be studying English tomorrow?

ATTENTION: These signal words are just an indication that the future form can be used.
Use
The Future Continuous is a verb tense used to refer to an unfinished action or event that will be in progress at a time later than now:
- To project ourselves into the future
- An interrupted action in the future
- To predict or guess about future events
- To refer to continuous events that we expect to happen in the future
- Parallel Actions in the Future
- Atmosphere in the Future
1. To project ourselves into the future
- This time next week I will be living in New York.
- By Christmas I will be working as a Senior Manager.
2. An interrupted action in the future
- I will be watching TV when he gets here tonight.
- Just in case anything happens and you want to contact me, I am going to be staying at the Hilton Hotel.
- Tonight at 8 PM, I am going to be studying.
3. To predict or guess about future events
- I guess you will be feeling awful tomorrow after working under this extreme weather.
- He will be coming to the wedding, I hope.
4. To refer to continuous events that we expect to happen in the future
- I will be talking with Mary this evening so I can tell her about that.
5. Parallel Actions in the Future
- Tonight, I am going to be studying and my mother is going to be making dinner.
