Pronouncing “ed” at the end of words can be very trick.

The Pronunciation of words ending in ED depends on the final consonant sound.

There are 3 ways to pronounce:

  1. /d/ = When only the D is pronounced: Enjoyed and Opened.
  2. /t/ = When ED is pronounced like a T: Liked and Cooked.
  3. /id/ = When ED is actually pronounced: Started and Studied.
