<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Parts of Speech in the English Language</h2>

<p>Learn here <strong>the basics of English Grammar.</strong> Parts of Speech will become the overall framework of your language knowledge and will help you understand how the language is structured. </p>

<p>In order to build your basic grammar foundation it is very important to become familiar with the name of each <strong>part of speech</strong> and to expand your knowledge about each one of them. </p>

<p>A <strong>part of speech</strong> is a <strong>category of words</strong> that have <strong>similar properties</strong>. Many English words can belong to <strong>more than one</strong> part of speech.</p>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">There are <strong>8</strong> Parts of Speech</h2>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><a href="https://englishsupersite.com/parts-of-speech/#1">Nouns*</a></li>

<li><a href="https://englishsupersite.com/parts-of-speech/#2">Pronouns</a></li>

<li><a href="https://englishsupersite.com/parts-of-speech/#3">Adjectives</a></li>

<li><a href="https://englishsupersite.com/parts-of-speech/#4">Verbs</a></li>

<li><a href="https://englishsupersite.com/parts-of-speech/#8">Interjections</a></li>
</ol>

<p>*Commonly, <strong>articles</strong> are classified under <strong>nouns</strong>.</p>

<p>Words are the building blocks of your communications, take some time to read and understand how they are classified and how they are applicable in your daily life.</p>

<a id="1"></a>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Nouns</h3>

<p> A noun is a word that functions to <strong>name</strong> a person, place, thing, or idea. Please note that when you are studying the Parts of Speech in English, <strong>articles</strong> are usually under <strong>nouns</strong> because they often refer to nouns.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Irregular Plural or Mutating Plural</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What is an Irregular Plural?</h3>

<p>They are irregular <strong>nouns</strong> in the <strong>plural form</strong>. They are <strong>not regular </strong>because their&nbsp;plural form is <strong>different</strong> than just adding an “s” or “es” at the end of the word. In other words, irregular plurals are nouns that do not follow the usual rules for forming plurals in English. Most nouns form their plurals by adding -s or -es to the singular form, but this rule has many exceptions.</p>

<p>There are many other irregular plurals in English, and it&#8217;s important to learn the correct plural form of each noun in order to speak and write correctly. Like the table of irregular verbs, we can also create a table to study and visualize it.</p>

<p>Some of these words are very common and used on a daily basis, like: feet, teeth, men, women, children, and people.</p>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Table of Irregular Plurals &#8211; Image</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="900" src="https://englishsupersite.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Irregular-Plurals-or-Mutating-Plurals.png" alt="Irregular Plurals or Mutating Plurals" class="wp-image-1888" srcset="https://englishsupersite.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Irregular-Plurals-or-Mutating-Plurals-600x551.png 600w, https://englishsupersite.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Irregular-Plurals-or-Mutating-Plurals-480x270.png 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 600px) 600px, 100vw" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Irregular Plurals or Mutating Plurals</figcaption></figure>

<div style="height:20px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Study them very carefully as the differences between the original word and their plural form can be very subtle.</p>
