Articles in English are words that are used before nouns to indicate the type of reference being made to the noun. There are two types of articles in English: definite and indefinite. A definite article is used when referring to a specific noun; “the” is a definite article in English. An indefinite article is used when referring to a non-specific noun; “a” and “an” are indefinite articles in English.
