Abbreviations

Abbreviations are shortened forms of words and phrases. They are used to represent a whole word or phrase and are usually written using capital letters without any punctuation. Common abbreviations in English include “etc.” for “et cetera,” “e.g.” for “for example,” and “i.e.” for “that is.” Abbreviations can also be used for titles and names such as “Mr.” for “Mister” and “Dr.” for “Doctor.”
