Homonyms
A homonym is a word that has the same spelling and pronunciation as another word but has a different meaning. For example, “can” can mean a metal container or the ability to do something.
Other examples include “right” (as in correct) and “right” (as in the opposite of left); “back” (as in the rear part of the body) and “back” (as in to move backwards); and “fair” (as in light in color) and “fair” (as in just and impartial).
